Check out these spy shots to know more about the upcoming 2019 Suzuki Gixxer
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer has been spied for the first time in the country. We’ve got a number of shots from different angles which will give you a fair idea of what the upcoming 150cc naked is all about:
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 comes with an all-new LED headlamp while the indicators gets regular bulbs. Also, the 2019 model features a Suzuki sticker on the front fender just like the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF. The motorcycle rolls on MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres on both ends. A closer look at the instrument cluster reveals that the bike packs the same console as the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF. The full-LCD unit in the new Gixxer SF houses a gear position indicator, shift light, speedometer, odometer, dual trip meters, fuel gauge and other tell-tale lights.
The 2019 iteration features redesigned fuel tank extensions which look a lot beefier than before. Interestingly, the side panels get the same design as its faired sibling. The new design language coupled with the split seat setup and dual-tone colour scheme makes it look sportier and more premium than before.
Just as we had earlier predicted, the engine appears to be the same unit as the one on the 2019 Gixxer SF. This motor lacks a kick start lever and gets fuel injection. In the new Gixxer SF, the BS6-ready 154.9cc single-cylinder motor produces 14.1PS at 8000rpm and 14Nm at 6000rpm. Expect Suzuki to use the same state of tune in the naked bike. Underpinnings include the same telescopic fork up front and rear monoshock setup as its predecessor. For optimum braking prowess, it gets disc brakes on both ends with a single-channel ABS as standard.
The tail section looks a lot sharper than the outgoing model. Interestingly, it looks similar to the 2019 Gixxer SF, including the sleek LED tail lamp. Even the exhaust tip design is similar to its faired sibling and the naked motorcycle gets a tyre hugger as well. It may look a bit gaudy but it will be extremely practical as it minimises water back splash during rain. The split grab rail has been redesigned and is colour-coded as well.
We expect Suzuki to launch the 2019 Gixxer soon. The bike is likely to command a premium of around Rs 10,000 over the outgoing model, which is priced at Rs 88,941 (ex-showroom Delhi). When launched, it will compete against Honda CB Hornet 160R, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Yamaha FZ FI Version 3.0 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
