The 2020 KTM RC range decoded via detailed images
KTM had recently launched its BS6 portfolio which also included the 2020 RC 125, RC 200 and RC 390. The motorcycles received a cleaner motor, cosmetic updates in the form of a new livery. We managed to get our hands on all three motorcycles during our recent track outing with the 200 Duke BS6 and 390 Duke BS6. Here is a detailed look at all three motorcycles.
The smallest sportsbike in the KTM stable, the RC 125 gets a new livery for 2020. Instead of the previous orange pains scheme, it has more white in its livery.
The fairing has a large 'RC' logo along with a smaller KTM logo on the bottom half. It also gets a white painted front fender with black and orange graphic inserts.
Power comes from a cleaner BS6 motor. Power output remains unchanged and the BS6-compliant 124.7cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected single-cylinder motor delivers the same 14.5 PS at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm at 8,000 rpm.
The sharp bodywork and underpinnings remain unchanged as well. It gets a trellis frame, premium WP upside down forks and WP monoshock. Braking is via a 300mm front ByBre disc with radially mounted caliper and a 230mm rear disc. It gets single-channel ABS.
The KTM RC 125 BS6 now costs Rs 1,55,277 (ex-showroom Delhi). That's a premium of Rs 6,527 over the BS4 RC 125.
Next on the list is the KTM RC 200 BS6. It looks even sportier thanks to the black and orange livery.
The updated motorcycle gets the RC logo in Grey with orange highlights around it. Even the front fender gets Grey and Orange highlights.
The BS6-compliant 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor delivers 25PS at 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm at 8,000rpm. It gets a six-speed gearbox.
Like the RC 125, the KTM RC 200 gets a trellis frame, WP suspension ByBre brakes and MRF REVZ tyres. However, unlike the RC 125, the RC 200 gets dual-channel ABS.
The KTM RC 200 costs Rs 1,96,768 (ex-showroom Delhi). It commands a premium of Rs 6,138 over the BS4 RC 200 now.
The flagship RC 390 gets new livery identical to the 2020 RC 390 shown at EICMA last year. It has more Black and White Colours Than Orange and even the wheels are Black now.
Its BS6-compliant 373.3cc motor delivers 43.5PS at 9,000rpm and 36Nm at 7,000rpm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
Underpinnings and features remain similar to the BS4 RC 390. It continues to get twin projector headlamps, a digital instrument console and LED tail lamp and turn indicators. Unlike the RC 125 and RC 200, the RC 390 gets a larger 320mm front ByBre disc brake and more premium Metzeler Sportec M5 radial tyres.
The 2020 KTM RC 390 BS6 is priced at Rs 2,48,075 (ex-showroom Delhi). That is a premium of Rs, 4,061 over the BS4 RC 390.
