Scooters are known for their practicality while bikes are known for their fun quotient. But what if you were to bring the two concepts together? Well, Yamaha’s take on that is the X-Ride 125, and guess what, there’s a new model now available for the Indonesian market. It comes in three new colours -- red, white and black, and even gets a new feature called Answer Back System. It essentially allows the rider to know the position of the bike in the parking lot by making a beeping sound and blinking its turn signal twice.
Other notable features include LED lights running LED DRLs, Hazard lights and large 14-inch wheels. As for its performance, the X-Ride 125 uses a 125cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected SOHC engine that puts out 9.5PS at 8000rpm and 9.6 Nm at 5500rpm. In terms of hardware, the moped features an underbone chassis, a telescopic fork and a single gas-charged monoshock.
So you’re probably wondering how much it costs? The X-Ride is positioned on the premium side but isn’t all that expensive when you consider the kind of equipment you get. To cut things short, Yamaha offers the X-Ride 125 for Rp. 18,690,000, which is equivalent to around Rs 92,000 in India. Having said that, don’t expect the X-Ride 125 to make it to India as it’ll be too expensive for a price-sensitive market like India.
