The Unicorn now gets a fully digital instrument console in place of its iconic analogue one
The Honda Unicorn has been a reliable commuter choice for a lot of Indians for over 20 years. Though largely unchanged during this time, it remains a crowd favourite, known for its simplicity and dependable performance. One big update it received earlier was the shift from a 150cc engine to a 160cc one. Even with this change, the Unicorn has stayed mostly the same. However, with the growing competition in the 150-160cc segment, the Unicorn needed an update to remain relevant and competitive.
Engine
The most significant change to the Honda Unicorn has been done to the engine. It is now OBD2B-compliant, meeting the latest emission standards set to take effect from 1 April 2025. The 162.71cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine makes 13.18PS and 14.58Nm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Features
The most noticeable feature upgrades to the 2025 Honda Unicorn are the new LED headlight and the fully digital instrument console. Additionally, a USB Type-C charging port has been added to charge your phone.
Design
While the overall design remains unchanged, the Unicorn’s classic look appeals to the masses. It is available in a total of 3 colour options: Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Metallic.
Price & Rivals
Priced at Rs 1,19,481 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2025 Honda Unicorn sees a price increase of Rs 8,180. It rivals the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160, the Bajaj Pulsar 150, the Yamaha FZ & FZ-S FI V3, and the Hero Xtreme 160R.
