This 250cc Aprilia costs even more than an RC 390
Aprilia has taken the wraps off the GPR250R at the Xi’an Auto Expo in China. The 250cc supersport has received a cosmetic makeover and it looks more in tune with modern Aprilia motorcycles.
The GPR250R gets a new fascia with a three-piece LED headlight. Right below it are the integrated winglets. The overall design has been inspired from the bigger RSV4 superbike and we must say that it looks modern and sporty.
The 2021 Aprilia GPR250R is powered by a 250cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that pumps a claimed 27.8PS and 21.5Nm. For reference, the India-spec Suzuki Gixxer SF 250’s motor makes 26.5PS and 22.6Nm.

On the features front, apart from the LED headlight you get a TFT instrument cluster and premium underpinnings too. The Aprilia GPR250R is suspended on a 41mm inverted front fork and a monoshock with the braking hardware comprising a 300mm single front disc and a 218mm rear unit with ABS as standard.
It gets an asymmetrical swingarm and rolls on 17-inch alloys wrapped in a 100/80 front and a 130/70 rear tyre. The saddle height is a bit tall at 815mm.
In China, the Aprilia GPR250R is priced at CNY 26,800 (approximately Rs 3.08 lakh, excluding taxes) and would make for a decent tool for beginner track riders. However, the Italian manufacturer is unlikely to bring it to our country. Besides, Aprilia is developing an India-specific supersports which might be unveiled next year and we hope it carries forward the same sporty styling as seen on the new GP250R.
