The 2021 version has been launched overseas with new MT-09-inspired colours
The Yamaha MT-15’s biggest USP is arguably its outlandish and attention-grabbing appearance. Unfortunately, here in India, we have to make do with a conventional telescopic fork and relatively sober colour schemes, while the South-East Asian versions get a lovely golden upside-down fork and snazzier graphics. Now, Yamaha has launched the 2021 MT-15 in Thailand, with even fresher paint schemes.
The three new colour options -- Metallic Gray, Racing Blue, and Matt Black -- draw inspiration from the recently updated MT-09. All three feature the signature slanted stripes on the fuel tank like the MT-09, along with a large MT logo. They also get colour-coded stripes on the tail panel, coupled with colour-coded wheels, for an added dose of sportiness.
While these new colour schemes aren’t available in our country just yet, the good news is Yamaha India will allow you to customise your MT-15 to quite a great extent, with a total of 11 colour options on offer. Nevertheless, we hope the updated colour schemes make their way over to our shores sometime soon, especially since they have come at no extra cost in Thailand, where the MT-15 continues to sell for 98,500 baht or around Rs 2.38 lakh.
