While KTM offers adjustable suspension in Europe, the India-spec 2022 RC 390 packs more value as well
The 2022 KTM RC 390 certainly seems to be packing enough new hardware to justify the generational shift. Much like the RC 200 brought about last year, in fact. It looks new, it’s lighter in some places, breathes better now thanks to the bigger airbox, the ergos are more relaxed and it even holds more fuel than before. We know that, we expected that. But what comes as a shocker (no pun intended) is that the monoshock on the new RC 390 can not only be adjusted for preload (like before) but now also offers five steps of rebound adjustability.
KTM owners in India have pleaded their throats dry asking for the adjustable suspension their European counterparts seem to rave about. And though the Indian RC 390 (sadly) still does not get a fully adjustable front fork like the European model, the rebound adjustment at the rear is a huge welcome change. In fact, this new monoshock is the same unit offered on the European-spec RC 390.

We hope that in the years to come, if not for the full suite of power parts, we at least get fully adjustable suspension as an optional extra. That said, the TVS Apache RR 310 is the only motorcycle to offer fully adjustable suspension in this segment (as part of its Built To Order orBTO kit), whereas its other rival, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 gets only preload adjustability at the rear.
