That said, the updates are only cosmetic
Yamaha has updated two of its most popular supersports, the YZF-R3 and YZF-R7. The bikes get only cosmetic updates for 2023.
The 2023 YZF-R3 is now being offered a new paint scheme: Phantom Purple, while retaining the previous Team Yamaha Blue and Midnight Black colours. This new paint scheme adds a hint of stealth to the already sporty-looking R3. Other things remain unchanged, with the R3 making a healthy 42PS and 29.4Nm from its 321cc twin-cylinder engine.
For 2023, the YZF-R7, on the other hand, gets Intensity White as its latest colour option, while retaining the Team Yamaha Blue and Performance Black colours. The new white colour, combined with the red alloys, gives the R7 a muscular look. The bike that’s closest to this colour scheme in India is the Yamaha R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition. Mechanically, the R7 remains unchanged too, with its 689cc twin-cylinder engine making 73.4PS and 67Nm.
The R3 now retails for USD 5,499 (approximately Rs 4.37 lakh), while the R7 costs USD 9,199 (approximately Rs 7.3 lakh). While both the bikes will probably not be coming to India anytime soon, Yamaha introduced the 2022 Monster Energy MotoGP Editions for four of its two-wheelers in India. Check them out here.
