The electric cruiser gets a claimed range of up to 220km!
Electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining huge popularity among new two-wheeler buyers. While there are electric options for various types of two-wheelers, cruisers have been an exception until now. Surprisingly, cruisers hold almost 8 percent share of the overall two-wheeler market and a significant 80 percent share in the 250-800cc range.
The exception has changed now, though, as MX Moto has launched India’s second electric cruiser bike (after the Komaki Ranger), the MX Moto M16. This cruiser has a unique split frame design with the battery as a stressed member. It is offered with a 3.96 kWh capacity battery pack with a claimed range of about 160-220km. Charging from 0 to 90 percent takes just about 3 hours. The bike features a 4000W BLDC hub-mounted motor generating 140Nm of torque, along with regenerative braking facilitated by the 80A controller.
The suspension setup includes an inverted fork at the front and adjustable monoshock at the rear. The cruiser comes with dual 320mm front disc brakes and a 240mm disc brake at the rear. It rides on 110-section front tyre and 140-section rear tyre with 17-inch wheels on both ends.
In terms of features, the MX Moto M16 gets a fully-digital TFT instrument console, smartphone connectivity, and navigation through the MXMOTO app. Additional features include cruise control, reverse assist, anti-skid/hill assist, and park assist. The electric cruiser is equipped with a dynamic LED headlight, LED turn indicators, and taillight.
With India now getting its second electric cruiser and first all-metal body electric cruiser , it will be interesting to see how Indian customers, known for their selective choices in vehicles, respond to the MX Moto M16.
