Hero is all set to launch the Destini 125 in India in the month of December 2024, as per sources. The scooter was first unveiled in the month of September 2024, Hero did give out all the information of the scooter but didn’t reveal the prices back then.
Hero Destini 125: What’s New?
The new Hero Destini 125 gets a fresh modern-retro design which makes the scooter look very premium. The new model features an H-shaped LED DRL and its overall silhouette now appears much sleeker than its previous generation. The scooter is available in three variants: VX, ZX and ZX+. The difference between the variants is the colours and the features they get.
Engine and Underpinnings
On the mechanical front, the scooter continues to be powered by the same 124.6cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the previous generation Destini 125. The engine produces 9PS and 10.4Nm.
Where Hero has done the most amount of changes is to the underpinnings. The new Destini 125 now gets a disc brake at front in the ZX and ZX+ variant whereas the VX variant gets a drum brake. Another major change is the larger 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends over the previous generation Destini 125 which came with 10-inch alloys at both ends. Additionally, the new Destini gets a new chassis and this has also slightly elongated the wheelbase. The old Destini had a wheelbase of 1245mm while the new one had a wheelbase of 1302mm.
Features
The VX variant is equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster, while the ZX and ZX+ variants come with an LCD instrument cluster featuring Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, distance to empty readout, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, clock, and other standard readouts. Additionally, the scooter is fitted with an LED projector headlight, LED taillight, and self-cancelling turn indicators that deactivate automatically after a set duration. The VX variant rides on standard cast alloy wheels, whereas the ZX and ZX+ variants get diamond-cut alloy wheels and a backlit starter switch. The new Destini also features a USB charging port in the front apron, boot lamp in the underseat storage, pillion backrest in the ZX and ZX+ variants and an external fuel filler cap.
Price and Expected Launch Date
The scooter is expected to be priced around Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom). The scooter will launch in the month of December itself and will go against the likes of Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125 and the Suzuki Access 125.
