Based on the Aprilia RS 457, the Tuono 457 may be showcased at EICMA
The Aprilia Tuono 457 has been spotted during its testing phase in Europe. The naked bike will be based on the Aprilia RS 457 and will get the same exhaust as the faired bike. However, the test bike that was spotted gets very crude bodywork and we can expect tank extensions in the final version. The Tuono 457 will feature the same 457cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as its faired sibling, producing 47.5PS and 43.5Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The test motorcycle was spotted with a round halogen headlight, but we believe that this is just a makeshift arrangement for testing. We expect the final production of the Aprilia Tuono 457 to feature a split LED headlight along with an LED taillight and indicators. The naked bike will also get a digital instrument console.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 is spotted with a steel tubular frame and gets a different swingarm than the fully faired RS 457. The bike has a wide, single-piece handlebar and rear-set footpegs, offering an upright riding position with a slight forward lean. The Tuono 457 test bike was also seen with a single-piece seat and split grabrails.
The Tuono 457 has an inverted fork and an offset preload-adjustable rear monoshock, and the blue tubes that you see on the front and rear suspension have been added just for the purpose of testing its suspension behaviour. The naked bike gets the same brakes and alloy wheel design as the RS 457.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 will compete with the KTM 390 Duke and Yamaha MT-03. The Tuono 457 is expected to be showcased at the EICMA 2024. We anticipate its launch in 2025 and the naked bike will likely be priced under Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
