The Aprilia SXR125 maxi-scooter has been unveiled at Auto Expo 2020 alongwith the larger SXR160 scooter here. The scooters will be in the third quarter of 2020.
The new Aprilia SXR125 looks like a proper maxi scooter. It gets a stretched-out floorboard and lots of storage space. The front gets a twin LED headlamp setup and a large windscreen above it. It features a semi-digital instrument console, USB port, and underseat light.
The Aprilia SXR125 is powered by the BS6 powerplant from the Aprilia SR 125. While the fuel-injected motor makes 9.9PS at 7700rpm and 9.7Nm at 6000rpm, the 125cc maxi-scooter features different CVT gear ratios for a different ride experience.
Even the underpinnings are shared with the Aprilia SR 125. It gets telescopic forks and monoshock along with 14-inch wheels and fat XX section front and XX section rear tyres. Braking is via a front 220mm disc brake and 140mm rear drum brake.
With the Aprilia SXR125 and SXR160 maxi-scooters, Aprilia has entered a new segment, which was only occupied by the Suzuki Burgman Street. The Aprilia 125XX goes head to head with Suzuki’s maxi-scooter and we can’t wait to get both together for a proper comparison.
