Apart from these, Ather has also launched a tyre inflator which doubles up as a torch light and a powerbank
(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)
Ather Energy is all set to launch the Ather Rizta electric scooter along with the Ather Stack 6 OTA (Over the Air) update and the 'Halo' smart accessory, which we believe is a smart helmet, on April 6, 2024, at the Ather Community Day event. The manufacturer has now released a new teaser giving hints about what the upcoming Ather Stack 6 update could possibly include.
In the teaser, we see a hand switching off lights in an office. Then, the camera moves to an office desk where a small UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) enters the frame. The UFO hovers over a 2X2 block Rubik's cube and transforms it into a complex 5X5-block cube. We think that the Rubik’s cube can either be a hint for better screen resolution or new colourful themes for the Ather scooters.
The UFO then hovers over a popcorn packet lying in front of a laptop screen and bakes the popcorn with a yellow light. We think this hints at Ather getting a new feature that would allow you to play movies and videos on the screen using the Halo smart helmet’s speakers. But then this is more of a gimmicky feature and Ather isn’t really one to give us such features.
Then it hovers over a miniature clay model of Ather 450X and we can spot a pinned note at the back that says “Texting.” This may mean that the Ather Stack 6 update could include texting directly from the screen when the scooter is stationary. Previously, Ather CEO Tarun Mehta also revealed that the scooter will get an on-screen texting feature and a new Ather mobile app will also be launched.
Finally, it hovers over an Ather 450X parked beside the desk, revealing ‘Ather Stack 6’ on the scooter’s screen. One feature we really hope to see in the upcoming update is the ability for riders to schedule their updates. This would prevent them from being stranded on the roadside while the scooter updates itself.
Moreover, in another post, Ather revealed that there will be options to play music on the go, but they will not be integrating speakers on the scooters. Hence, the speakers and mic will likely be integrated into the Halo smart helmet, which should be compatible with all Ather scooters.
Ather has also launched a new tyre inflator which can also be used as a torch and a power bank, for Rs 2,999. It comes with a one-year warranty and can inflate footballs, balloons, and cycle tyres as well as motorcycle and scooter tyres.
