Bajaj aims to reach 1 million mark with Pulsar 135 launch

Two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto with the launch of its new Pulsar 135 LS, said that it hoped to reach a sales target of one million a year in 2010-11 for the Pulsar brand. Milind Bade, General Manager, Marketing, Two Wheelers, Bajaj Auto, said that the company has sold it's 50K Pulsars in a month and now with the new variant they hope to sell 35K more per month. Milind Bade said that the new variant was expected to grow the sports bike market segment from 16% to 20-25% at the end of next fiscal. However, the new Pulsar aimed at accelerating the growth of the sports segment in the country, in line with the overall Pulsar strategy of broad basing performance. Pulsar 135 LS, is the world's first four valve DTS i-engine and light sports bike in the country. Today the sports category is fastly catching up with the whole two-wheeler industry focusing on it, including competitors. TVS Apache and Bajaj Pulsar are the most popular bikes in India.
