Bajaj Auto aims to sell 4mn two-wheelers this fiscal

With no effect of car market suffering from slump in sales of cars in domestic market, two-wheeler manufacturing company Bajaj Auto on the other side has announced that it is speculating to sell four million vehicles during the current financial year. This was reportedly said by Mr. Chandrasekar R, General Manager (Marketing and Sales) Bajaj Auto. With this it is also said that the reason of the decrease in sales of passenger cars noticed by major car manufacturing companies is due to rapid hike in the fuel prices and high rate of interest charged by the  financial institutions. However, the slowdown seems to have little effect on sale of bikes in India.

There are reports that three leading car manufacturing companies Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Hyundai Motors and Tata Motors have witnessed sluggish progress in the domestic car market during the  month of August 2011 as compared to  the sales of same month sales during last year. Expressing views on the launch of new 150cc bike Bajaj Boxer 150 which is also considered as the Bharat Bike highly suitable for the rural areas, Mr. Chandrasekar also reportedly said that automobile industry is suffering from decline in the sales of cars and there is no impact on the sales of two wheelers in the domestic market and is reported progressing at the speed of 13% to 15% every year. Sharing his views regarding new Bajaj Boxer, Mr. Chandrasekar also said that Bajaj Boxer 150 is the most fuel efficient bike resulting in an average of 55 to 60 kmpl and is especially designed targeting the customers of the  rural areas who prefer to buy powerful bikes with comfort riding. According to him Bajaj Auto speculates sale of 30,000 of Bajaj Boxer bikes in India every month.
