Baring the Dominar 400, all bikes prices will be hiked upto Rs1,500

Bajaj Auto has announced it will be raising prices for all its models in the range of Rs 700 to Rs 1500, depending on model and variant. The newly launched Dominar 400 is not affected by this price hike. This move has been made to offset the rising raw materials cost and also the cost of development needed for the switch from BS-III to BS-IV emission norms applicable from March 2017.

Bajaj Auto Ltd President (Motorcycle) Eric Vas in an interview with PTI stated,

"The price hike is due to the transition to BS-IV and also to accommodate increase in raw material costs as well. The hike shall not affect recently launched products like the Dominar 400"

The upgradation to BS-IV may push other bike and car manufacturers to hike prices of their respective line-up in the coming months.
