Bajaj Avenger 180 Replacement, Avenger Street 160 ABS Launched at Rs 82,253

Priced Rs 6,000 lower than the Avenger 180, the Avenger Street 160 also gets the safety net of ABS

Bajaj Auto has officially launched the Avenger Street 160 ABS at Rs 82,253 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new Avenger Street 160, a replacement for the now discontinued Avenger Street 180, is now the most affordable cruiser offering from Bajaj. It carries forward the Avenger Street 180’s styling and features but gets a smaller 160cc powerplant. It is available in two colours: Ebony Black and Spicy Red.

The new 160.4cc air-cooled powerplant makes 15PS and 13.5Nm, which is lower than the Avenger Street 180’s output of 15.5PS and 13.7Nm. The fact that both bikes weigh the same 150kg could mean that the base Avenger would offer slightly slower performance than its predecessor. However, we can expect the new Avenger Street  160 to be more fuel efficient than the Avenger Street 180. How much is the difference is something we shall find out soon with a proper road test. 

New features include a single-channel ABS on the 260mm front disc, while the rear still gets a drum brake. 

With the launch of the new Avenger Street 160, the base Avenger is now Rs 6,000 more affordable (Avenger Street 180 was sold for Rs 88,277, ex-showroom Delhi). The price difference is even more impressive when one considers that the new bike gets single-channel ABS also. It might lose some performance but will be more fuel efficient than the Avenger Street 180. Other bikes in Bajaj’s cruiser lineup include the Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220, both of which are priced at Rs 1,03,891, ex-showroom Delhi.

Bajaj Auto unveils the all-new Avenger Street 160 ABS

10th May 2019, Pune: Bajaj Auto has launched the all-new Avenger Street 160 with ABS. Bajaj Auto aims at consolidating its leadership position in the Sports segment by introducing the new Avenger Street 160. The sporty and youthful Avenger Street 160 boasts of Single Channel ABS along with a roadster design headlamp with LED DRLs, new graphics with larger Insignia, low & long profile, black alloy wheels and rubberized rear grab.
