Since the launch of the new Avenger series, Bajaj has been doing well in the industry. The Avenger range of motorcycles is presently the best-selling motorcycle in the company’s line-up. Launched on October 27th last year, it has been recording a monthly sales growth of around 10%. The sales from the new Avenger range is around eight times more than the previous Avenger model.
Kevin D’Souza, President, Finance at Bajaj Auto has been quoted saying that, "Bajaj has sold around 31,000 Avengers in February 2016." In January, 28,085 units were sold. Overall, the India-based motorcycle manufacturer has reported a 9% hike in sales for February 2016, selling 2,35,282 units against 2,16,077 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
The Avenger comes in three trims - the 220 Street, the 220 Cruise and the 150 Street . These bikes are available at a price tag of Rs. 75,000 for the 150 Street and Rs. 84,000 for the 220 Street and the 220 Cruise (all ex-showroom, Delhi). The Bajaj Avenger series of motorcycles do not have any competition in the market as no other cruiser motorcycle is available in this price bracket. The closest competitors to these bikes are the Royal Enfield Thunderbird and the recently launched Renegade from UM Motorcycles.
