Bajaj crossed 1 million export mark in 2010

Bajaj Auto, the country's second largest motorcycle manufacturer which has flagship bike models such as Bajaj pulsar and Bajaj Discover, crossed the milestone of exporting 1 million two-wheelers in 2010. The actual number is over 1.2 million two wheelers that shipped to overseas market.



Bajaj Auto has two flagship bike models such as Bajaj Pulsar (135c, 150cc, 180 and 220cc) and Bajaj Discover (100cc and 150cc) which are doing well in domestic and overseas market and getting buzz response. Volume wise, the company recorded 35 per cent growth in international market up till now.

The two-wheeler export business of the company is spread in Africa, Latin America and other Asian countries. The major chunk of the exports was shipped to Africa that is 50 per cent of the total while Asia accounts for 34 per cent and 15 per cent in Latin America.

The demand for Bajaj bikes is rising and it is expected that the Indian two wheeler market will be dominated by the Bajaj Auto as well. The company is planning to launch Bajaj Pulsar 250cc by the end of this year. While a new variant of Discover also is expected.

To increase the wings in all segment bike and other countries market, Bajaj Auto is selling Kawasaki bikes including Kawasaki Ninja 250R through Bajaj Pro-biking showrooms, further it has also tied-up with KTM bikes.
