Price, engine, design, underpinnings; a lowdown into everything you need to know

Bajaj CT 125X

Bajaj launched the CT 125X last week, at a rather attractive price tag. Here’s everything you need to know about this rugged looking commuter:

Design

Bajaj CT 125X Design

The CT 125X adopts a rugged design language along with some retro appeal. You have a round halogen headlight unit with a V-shaped LED DRL on its front cowl. The retro elements can be seen in the relatively dated instrument cluster and the lack of any LEDs (except the DRL) on the motorcycle.

Justifying the ‘X’, it gets bits like chunky tank pads, a ribbed seat cover, luggage carrier and an underbelly protector plate.

Engine

Bajaj CT 125X Engine

At its heart is a 124.4cc, air-cooled engine that makes 10.9PS and 11Nm. The motor is paired to a five-speed transmission and is the same that we’ve seen on the Bajaj Discover 125.

Underpinnings

Bajaj CT 125X Suspension

The CT 125X is suspended on a telescopic fork with gaiters along with dual shock absorbers. The 17-inch alloys are shod with an 80-section front and 100-section rear tyre.

Bajaj CT 125X Disc Brake

You have an optional disc brake at the front with a drum one as standard at the rear.

Features

Bajaj CT 125X Instrument Console

Bajaj has used basic equipment to keep the overall costs in check. The CT 125X gets a twin-pod analogue instrument cluster which houses the speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer.

Bajaj CT 125X USB Charging

However, it does get a handlebar-mounted USB charger.

Price

Bajaj CT 125X

The lack of features on the CT125X is somewhat justified by its price. At Rs 71,354 for the drum brake variant and Rs 74,554 for the disc brake variant (both prices ex-showroom Delhi), the bike is the most affordable 125cc bike on sale in India. With that, the CT 125X rivals the Honda Shine, TVS Radeon, Hero Glamour and Honda SP 125.
