Bajaj Auto- the home grown and third largest two -wheeler manufacturer in India is going to launch a new series of products within the next one year. The series is expected to include the premium products showcased by the company at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and the dealer's meet in Turkey as well as a new entry-level motorcycle.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Limited, told that two new launches have been planned  until March, which will be followed by bt a 'significant' launch in the first half of 2015. These new models will help the company to grew its market share upto 30 percent in the next year, which is almost twice of the July 2014 market share, he added.

Currently, Bajaj is giving more attention to its premium brands- Pulsar and Discover, while the solo product of the company in the respective segment- Platina is doing pretty well in the market. On the other side, all the other major companies are also concentrated on the entry-level products to grasp a big part from the mass segment.

The new entry level bike from Bajaj will mainly compete with the Hero MotoCorp HF- Dawn and HF-Deluxe along with the Honda CD110 Dream and Dream Neo. With these efforts, the company seems to reclaim its lost share and fight again for the lost position. Launched in the August 2014, Bajaj Discover 150 had also helped the company to hit an increased market share of 20 percent against the 14.55 percent of this July.

Mr. Bajaj said, “During the July-August period, where our market share was at 15 per cent, we had to reduce the billing of older Discovers. Already with one launch, there is a huge recovery in market share. I believe the days of 15 per cent market share are really over. It will come back to 23 per cent by the end of March and over the next financial year, be about 30 per cent,” said Rajiv Bajaj.
