Bajaj Files Trademark For Swing and Genie Name

New Bajaj e-scooters incoming?

Bajaj has recently filed trademark applications for the Swing and Genie model names. The trademark application mentions “Formalities Chk Pass,” which means the trademark has been filed and is authenticated.

It’s likely that these could be the names of its upcoming e-scooters. Though Bajaj has secured the names with the trademark, it will be sold under the Chetak sub-brand. While the Swing could be an electric scooter for private buyers, the Genie name hints more towards something commercial, perhaps an electric scooter or even possibly a three-wheeler, aimed at commercial applications. 

Alternatively, Bajaj could just be acquiring the names, without the express aim of bringing them into production, which is a common practice by many manufacturers. So we’ll have to wait and see what exactly Bajaj is brewing in its backyard. Meanwhile, the other highly anticipated project from Bajaj's lineup, the Triumph - Bajaj motorcycle, is poised to be unveiled, while the next-generation 2023 KTM 390 Duke, is also set to be launched later this year.
