Take a closer look at the resurrected Bajaj Pulsar 180 in these detailed images
It’s fair to say that the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 180 have been some of the most popular motorcycles in their respective segments. And now the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer has resurrected the famed Pulsar 180, replacing the Pulsar 180F. Is there anything new in the 2021 iteration? Find out in our detailed image gallery.
Stare at the 2021 Pulsar 180 for hours and you’d barely notice any changes on the bike. Bajaj has carried over the same design for years, and the 2021 iteration is no different. The bike sports the same halogen headlight flanked by bulb indicators, and the LED taillight out back. The commuter stance also remains unchanged.
On the instrumentation front, the bike features the same analogue tachometer with an LCD screen for speed, fuel level and odometer. The switchgear too is the same backlit unit.
The 15-litre fuel tank is retained and should ensure enough range for touring.
Bajaj has made no changes to the riding position and the 2021 Pulsar 180 offers the same commuter stance as before. The split seat too has been carried over.
The biggest change on the latest iteration of the Pulsar 180 is the BS6 compliant engine. It’s a 178.6cc SOHC air-cooled motor that makes 17PS and 14.52Nm, the same as the 180F. It’s mated to a 5-speed transmission. Bajaj has used an electronic carburettor instead of a fuel-injection system. This helps in keeping the costs low.
Even the suspension setup on the 2021 Pulsar 180 is the same as before. A telescopic front fork and a pair of 5-step adjustable gas-charged rear shocks.
Braking hardware comprises a 280mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc with single-channel ABS as standard.
The kerb weight of the Pulsar 180 is 151kg, which is 5kg less than the 180F. One of the many reasons could be the bikini fairing along with the halogen headlamp on the naked weighing less than the quarter fairing with twin projector headlamps on the 180F.
The Pulsar 180 is already available at Bajaj dealerships and has been priced at Rs 1,07,904, which’s Rs 6,611 less than the Pulsar 180F priced at Rs 1.14 lakh, both ex-showroom Delhi.
