The Pune-based manufacturer has recently increased the price of its 200cc adventure tourer - Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 by a fair amount of Rs. 2,002. The company had also raised the price of its flagship model - Pulsar RS 200 a month back by the same figure. Bajaj had already announced at the time of launching the AS twins that the price at which they are offering the bikes are introductory, which means the hike in prices was sure to happen. The AS 200 is now available at the dealerships at a price of Rs. 93,552 that has been raised from Rs. 91,550 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike was launched back in April at Rs. 3 cheaper price than the Pulsar 200NS. This might be a healthy reason why Bajaj finally decided to discontinue its liquid-cooled street player - the 200NS.
Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 is propelled by a 199.5cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine that comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The mill churns out a net power of 23.17bhp at 9,500rpm with a maximum torque of 18.3Nm at 8,000rpm. The bike gets 280mm disc brake up front and a 230mm disc brake at the rear for a more bitey and responsive braking. Other impressive features include a powerful projector headlight, perimeter frame and a highly-raised clear aerodynamic windshield.
Its younger sibling - Pulsar AS 150 remains unaffected by the price hike and continues to sell at Rs. 79,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
