Bajaj Auto made an official announcement today regarding the sales of their ever so popular bike Pular. India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturing company stated that Pulsar has now crossed 50 lakh mark as far as the number of units sold are concerned. After a decade of existence in the country, Bajaj Pulsar is the only bike to have crossed the 5 million mark. Bajaj Auto made an official statement, saying that the brand has crossed 50 lakh sales mark and is the only performance bike to cross the 5 million mark in the country. The early years of the bike, which was nearly 10 years ago, saw the vehicle dominate the market.
Today though the market has changed with lots of company's releasing bikes in the similar range with formidable features and giving Pulsar more than a run for their money. Still, the most admired model of Bajaj has managed to hang on and have continued to sell more units at a respectable pace. Looking back, it was the year 2001 in the month of November when the masculine vehicle was released in the market with two versions. One of them was 180 cc while the other featured a smaller engine with 150 cc.
Now, they have increased their domain by introducing a wider range of choices in terms of the engine capacity with the lowest range model dropping to 135 cc and the highest model jumping to 220 cc. The president of Bajaj Auto Limited, K. Srinivas, praised the model saying that not many bikes have overtaken the 5 million mark even if you consider mass motorcycles. This just adds to the many accolades that the vehicle has accumulated over the years. Last month brought more good news for the company, as they overtook Honda to become the second most successful bike manufacturer this year. 2012 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is the latest bike to be released by the company with Bajaj Pulsar 250 already on the road.
