The Indian Auto Expo, which takes place in Delhi NCR every two years can be seen as the biggest and most popular platform for Indian vehicle manufacturers to showcase their products and know the views of their audience about them. The event visitors in turn, get to know about the latest and upcoming products and technologies by these companies. For auto enthusiasts, it is none other than a delighting and extravagant show for which they wait for many months.

While Indian Auto Expo is a promising platform for many, some manufacturers don't see it as a worthy event sometimes. Many companies do not get involved in it each time due to their specific reasons. As per the recent reports, we came to know that three major two-wheeler brands viz, Bajaj Auto, Royal Enfield and Harley Davidson won’t be taking part in the upcoming edition of Auto Expo, which is scheduled in Noida from February 5 to February 9, 2016.

The reasons are different. Bajaj Auto feels that since it is not an international brand, it has no need to showcase its products in its own country. Royal Enfield on the other hand, was seen promoting itself outside the Auto Expo site last year. However, it has one major upcoming product named Himalayan, waiting to hit the Indian shores. What we personally feel is that RE should really bring on their much-awaited 400cc bike at the event, which could prove a game-changing card for them. Lastly, Harley Davidson don’t have any upcoming motorcycle, which they can put on show at the biennial motor event, hence, they chose to opt out. For those who don’t know, the company launched its most affordable bike, Street 750 at the 2014 Auto Expo at Rs. 4.10 lac (ex-showroom price).

Another big mentality why manufacturers give a second thought in participation may be the high amount of capital needed. Depending on the floor space occupied, each company has to spend a whopping Rs. 5 crores to Rs. 15 crores, just for showcasing their vehicles for a period of 5 days.
