Bajaj

With the launch of new Avenger series in India, Bajaj has witnessed a 1% rise in sales of December 2015 but recorded a decline of 1% in overall motorcycle sales for the year. The rise in sales of November and December can be attributed to around 25,000 units of Avenger being sold in each month. As compared to 2,46,233 units sold in December 2014, the company has sold 2,47,782 motorcycles in the corresponding month in 2015. Coming to the yearly sales, the India-based manufacturer was able to sell 26,05,733 bikes in the time period from April to December as compared to 26,19,115 units in 2014 in the same period.

The combined sales of Bajaj Auto (Motorcycles + Commercial Vehicles) stood at 30,21,123 units in 2015, out of which, 14,07,082 units were exported, recording a 3% decrease in exports as compared to 2014. Also, Bajaj saw a decline of 12% in exports in December as it exported 1,45,477 units as compared to 1,66,134 units exported in December 2014.

Bajaj Avenger

Due to the impressive sales figures of Avenger and Pulsar in November, Bajaj was able to record a rise of 3% in sales. As of now, the company is selling close to 75,000 motorcycles in a month. The new Avenger comes in two versions and three variants - Street 220, Street 150 and Cruise 220. The Street gets an all-black theme and its design seems to be inspired from Harley-Davidson Street 750, on the other hand, Cruise gets a chrome makeover to suit those who enjoy the classic touch. The Street 150 is priced at Rs. 75,000 and both the 220cc bikes cost Rs. 84,000 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
