Bajaj Auto Limited, the major Indian two-wheeler brand, is now eyeing on Chinese market as it looses grip in the Indian market. The major series of Bajaj- Pulsar and Discover are not bringing a convincing profit to the company, which is the reason why the company is planning to start exporting. Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, the CEO of Bajaj is now seeking more potential in the KTM bikes. So, the company has asked its Austrian partner, KTM to help them accelerate the sales and thereby, help Bajaj to restore the lost grounds.
KTM-Bajaj's Duke series is going to debut in the China later this week. Presently, Dukes are being manufactured at the Chakan plant in Pune. The initial step by the company is to export around 200 to 300 bikes per month, which will be gradually increased to 3000 bikes in the next year. The company is assuming a great potential in the market of China and hopes to kick-start a new journey in the red dragon country. Meanwhile, the current export numbers of Bajaj are 1 lakh units per month.
This export is a two-phase strategy, in the first phase the company is going to export Duke 390 units and in the other phase, Duke 200 will be exported. Bajaj is taking a risk or its a pre-planned action, stay tuned for further updates.
