Much like the INS Vikrant, this custom painted Bajaj V15 by Eimor Customs looks ready for battle.
Bajaj launched the V15 as an unconventional offering in the 150cc segment. Apart from the unique styling and solid build of the motorcycle, there is something that connects it with the heart of Indians and that is the patriotic spirit it comes with. The bike incorporates a small piece of metal from the Indian war hero INS Vikrant in its fuel tank. For those who don't know about Vikrant, it was the first flight carrier of India and had helped the country win various battles before it was retired.
Now, Hyderabad-based Eimor customs has painted the Bajaj V15, replicating the bodywork of the INS Vikrant in a shade of “Battlefield Grey.” The motorcycle is already designed in a way that it resembles the warship and this new costume completes the job in an interesting way. The chassis and the engine have also been repainted in black to gel with the new paint job which features riveted metal sheet design. But its highlight is the custom airbrush painting on the fuel tank, showing the aerial view of Vikrant.
There are many other interesting bits in this custom paint job, like an "R11" moniker -- the actual number of the ship -- on the front mudguard. The tenure of Vikrant's service in the Navy has been written on both sides of the fuel tank. The metallic "V" logo and "The Invincible" badging at the rear complete the look of this warship on two wheels.
Besides the visual alterations, there are no mechanical upgrades in the bike and it continues to use the 150cc long-stroke engine, coupled with a 5-speed gearbox. Although it has a maximum power output of just 12PS, the peak torque output is pretty impressive at 13Nm.
The better low and mid-range torque of the bike helps in city riding conditions and its ergonomic design gives riders a comfortable ride experience. The stock motorcycle comes with features like front disc brake, alloy wheels, dual-purpose tubeless tyres, 60W headlamp and quite a bit more, and is still priced very competitively at just Rs 62,002 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
