The Pune based automaker, Bajaj today, on the occasion of Republic day has teased its upcoming motorcycle, the Bajaj V150 in the memory of country's first aircraft carrier, the INS Vikrant. The Bajaj V150 is most likely to make its debut on February 1, just 2 days before the 2016 Auto Expo. As per the company claims, the bike has been built from the remains of INS Vikrant which is the first aircraft carrier built in India. This 150cc offering will find its place somewhere between Discover 150F and Pulsar 200 in the company’s lineup. As the metal from INS Vikrant is limited, bike’s production might last for around 2 years. After that, it may come with a lesser price tag or in a regular version. The design of this bike is also very different which can be seen in the teaser image, it has been given a Cafe Racer like look with a single seat.
V150 is expected to feature the same mill as that of Discover 150F. The engine is a 144.8cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It generates a peak power of 14.3bhp at 8,500rpm and a torque of 12.75Nm at 6,500rpm. Bajaj also launched the most affordable motorcycle of the country recently. It is named as CT 100B and is the cheaper version of company’s popular commuter, CT 100.
