Electric two-wheeler manufacturer BattRE Electric Mobility has added yet another scooter to its Indian portfolio. The 'GPSie' as the scooter maker calls it, is priced at Rs 64,990 (ex-showroom). Yes, the scooter looks like every other electric EV out there that’s imported from China, but the brand has gone the extra mile to offer connected features in collaboration with California-based firm Aeris Communications.
The BattRE GPSie is available in three colour options: red, white and blue and can be booked via Amazon. The GPSie’s party piece is its connected features which include GPS tracking, geo-fencing, secure park and remote immobilisation, device management, trip reports, and driver behaviour reports. The list doesn't end there though, you also get additional features such as device status alert, crash alert and speeding alert. All these features can be accessed through a smartphone that syncs to a dedicated app. The first year's subscription is covered by the brand, after which customers are liable to pay Rs 1,200 annually.
Other notable features include an LED headlamp, USB charger, keyless ignition, reverse mode, regenerative braking, and a 220mm disc brake up front. The GPSie employs a telescopic fork up front and a twin shock absorber setup at the rear.
The e-scooter is powered by a 250W BLDC hub motor that drives the rear wheel up to speeds of 25kmph. It uses a 48V/24Ah Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, which takes about 2.5 hours for a full charge and delivers a claimed range of 65km.
BattRE Electric Mobility’s dealer network is spread across several states such as Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. More dealerships will be added in the near future.
