Benelli BN302 Revealed at EICMA, may come to India

One of the oldest Italian Motorcycle manufacturer Benelli has revealed its new entry level bike Benelli BN302 at 2013 EICMA at Milan, Italy. It is a naked sport bike in compact size and has aggressive and muscular appearance. The bike boasts a 300cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine, that churns out a maximum power ouput of 37bhp @ 11,500rpm and a peak torque of 27.1Nm @ 9000rpm, using fuel injection system. The engine comes mated with a six speed gear-box, which has been provided to balance between the power and speed at the rear wheel.

Benelli BN302 has been assembled on a rigid steel trellis frame, which has not been fully covered to provide a naked feel to the bike. Its 17-inch alloy wheels are connected to the frame by 41mm up-side down telescopic forks at the front, while by a pivoted swing-arm using single shock spring loaded suspension at the rear. A 120/70 tyre has been provided on the front wheel, while a more wider 160/60 tyre covers the rear wheel.

Its muscular fuel tank can swallow 17 litres of fuel at a time. It uses an underbelly type exhaust system which supports the both cylinders of its engine. To stop the bike in no time, it comes equipped with dual 260mm disk brakes at the front wheel and single 240mm disk brake at the rear wheel. The bike looks a good package for the Indian enthusiasts, if it will be launched in India at a price below 2 lakh.

In India, Benelli BN302 will come in a segment between KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390, and will compete against both vehicles. However, KTM dukes are doing well with their high performance bikes at a very affordable price.
