Will have a limited run of 100 units
Thailand’s two-wheeler market gets quite a few exclusive motorcycles/scooters. This time around, Benelli has launched the Imperiale 400 in a Retro trim only for the country. Moreover, the company has limited the Imperiale 400 Retro Edition to just 100 units.
Benelli has priced the Retro Edition at THB 1,39,900 (approximately Rs 3.40 lakh). Even though it's named the Imperiale 400 Retro Edition, the only new add-ons are a Benelli branded smoked fly-screen and fork gaiters that look similar to the ones seen on the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Talking about the Royal Enfields, the RE Classic 350 recently received a price hike.
Mechanically, Benelli has made no changes to the bike. It continues to be powered by an air-cooled 374cc, single-cylinder motor, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It makes 21PS of power and 29Nm of torque. Benelli has added no new colour schemes either. It’s a bit disappointing to have a limited production run of a bike with just a couple of new parts.
Currently, the only BS6 compliant Benelli available in India is the Imperiale 400 with a price tag of Rs 1.99 to 2.10 lakh, depending on the colour. The Imperiale has received a decent response from the Indian market and considering its popularity among other Benelli motorcycles, we expect the brand to launch the smoked fly-windscreen and the gaiters as accessories for the standard model here in the country.
