Planning to buy a Bajaj motorcycle? You might want to take a look at this
Since the 70s, Bajaj has been known to produce some of the most iconic two-wheelers to ever grace our roads. Be it the Bajaj Chetak from the 70s, the Pulsar 220F from the noughties or the current flagship, Dominar 400. With the festive season around the corner, some of you may be looking to add a Bajaj motorcycle to your garage. And if you’ve already narrowed it down to the bike you want, here’s a list of all the colours they are available in:
Bajaj Dominar 400
Price - Rs 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
Although the Dominar 400 is a worthy alternative to the Thunderbird 350, it has failed to match the sales figures of the Royal Enfield. However, that doesn’t stop it from being a value-for-money proposition. If you happen to be in the market for one, here's our take on the most ideal colour from Bajaj’s power cruiser. Currently, Bajaj offers the motorcycle in three different options - Rock Matte Black, Glacier Blue and Canyon Red. The red and blue paint options sport a glossy finish which complements the blacked out theme of the engine. While they do lend the motorcycle a striking presence on the road, we’d pick the matte black paint option as it is not only subtle but also helps enhance the Dominar’s aggressive lines. Apart from the new colours, the 2018 Dominar now gets golden alloy wheels as well. However, we do wish Bajaj offered black-coloured alloy wheels at least as an option to complement the overall dark theme of the motorcycle.
Bajaj Pulsar RS 200
Price - Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 can be described as… polarising at best. But one thing’s for sure, it’s got the ability to attract attention, even though it may not be for the right reasons. The Chakan-based company offers the motorcycle in three different colours - Racing Red, Racing Blue and Graphite Black. If we had to choose, we'd pick the blue colour scheme, which, when paired with the combination of white, doesn't look too loud like the red, nor too subtle like black. It also further accentuates the design of the motorcycle, especially at the front where it adds more aggressiveness to the twin projector headlamps.
Bajaj Pulsar 220F
Price - Rs 96,448 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Arguably the most popular motorcycle of the family, the Pulsar 220F has reached an iconic status in the country. It’s been one of the best-selling models in the Pulsar lineup. But that’s hardly a surprise since thousands of two-wheeler buyers still flock to Bajaj showrooms for the (almost) quarter-litre motorcycle. Bajaj currently offers the Pulsar 220F in four different paint schemes - Chrome Black, Laser Black, Dyno Red and Nuclear Blue. The first two paint options sport the same blacked out colour scheme but are separated by chrome accents on the first and red accents on the second. The other two colours get a metallic finish, which is just too bright for our liking. If we were to choose from the four, we’d pick the Chrome Black finish because of how well it complements the sleek design of the bike.
Bajaj Pulsar NS200
Price - Rs 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, in a way, was the company's first modern-day sports bike. The NS 200 came before the RS 200 and even the now-discontinued AS 200 (remember that?). The NS 200 is offered with all sorts of modern amenities you could think of without burning a hole in your pocket. Pair all this with an eye-catching metallic yellow paint scheme, and it wasn't surprising to see many ‘Bumblebees’ on the road. After reviving it from the dead last year, the company hopes to repeat the success and has added three new colours to do the job - Wild Red, Graphite Black and Mirage White. Personally, we wish it still came with the older yellow paint scheme. However, the current colour choices don't look half as bad. In fact, they help the motorcycle look more aggressive than before. This is primarily due to the blacked out theme sprinkled across the bodywork and graphics. We’d pick the white colour option simply because of the contrast it offers with the blacked out engine, seat and the fuel tank extensions.
Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220
Price - Rs 96,923 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Bajaj updated the Avenger Cruise and Street 220 earlier this year with a host of new updates. Bajaj even introduced a new colour - Moon White - alongside the existing Auburn Black option. While both colours help the motorcycle look fresh, we'd have to pick the white paint option as it helps bring out the cruiser’s various design elements like the chrome garnishes, taller windshield and the backrest with Avenger insignia.
Bajaj V15
Price - Rs 58,458 (ex-showroom Delhi)
When Bajaj launched the V15, it raised quite a few eyebrows for its marketing campaign. Since then, the motorcycle seems to have struck a chord with Indian buyers looking for a daily commuter by amassing a respectable sales figure. It is currently offered in three different colours - Ebony Black, Ocean Blue and Heroic Red. Of the three, we’d pick the Ocean Blue paint scheme. While all three colours manage to attract quite a bit of attention, especially considering the backstory of the motorcycle, we feel the blue paint does more justice to INS Vikrant, the aircraft carrier the V15 was built to honour. Not to mention, its easier on the eyes than the other two as well.
Bajaj Discover 110 and 125
Price - Rs 51,574 (110) & Rs 55,667 (125) (both, ex-showroom Delhi)
Colours and design aren’t what one notices when considering utilitarian motorcycles. Bajaj seems to have to taken this motto to heart as it just offers three colours for its Discover range of motorcycles - blue, black and red. While they aren’t extraordinary in any way, we’d pick the black colour option as it lends the motorcycle a dash of sportiness with its red and white accents. It also makes the commuter bike look a lot sharper than others in the segment.
