Bike Launches Recap: Here Are All The Bikes Launched In January 2024

From retro cruiser to neo-retro roadsters, we got them all all

With many bike launches from cruisers to ADVs, January 2024 was certainly exciting. If you weren’t following the news then don’t worry, this wrapup will give you a brief recap of all launches that took place during the month.

Kawasaki Eliminator

Kawasaki kicked off 2024 by launching the Kawasaki Eliminator, a cruiser offering that will go up against the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. The bike comes at a price of Rs 5,62,000 ex-showroom and is powered by a 451cc parallel-twin engine, the same one used on the Kawasaki Ninja 500. It produces 45.4PS at 9000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6000rpm.  

Although the bike is more expensive and doesn’t have the same amount of torque that the Super Meteor 650 offers, there are still a few features that the Eliminator has which the Super Meteor doesn’t. Read all about it here

Bajaj Chetak Premium 

Bajaj launched the updated Chetak electric scooter and now the Premium variant comes with more features. The new additions include, colour TFT display, greater range and a higher top speed.

It is offered in 2 sub-variants: Standard and TecPac. The Standard version costs Rs 1,35,463 while the TecPac version comes at a price tag of Rs 1,44,463 (both prices ex-showroom Bengaluru including FAME 2 subsidy). With the TecPac sub-variant customers can get more features, here’s what it includes.

Ather 450 Apex

Ather launched the Ather 450 Apex, a limited edition high performance scooter that takes things to the next level. It comes at a price of Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, without FAME 2 subsidy).

It gets many new features from a faster Warp+ mode, to a negative throttle for regen braking. The 450 Apex is also Ather’s most powerful scooter so far and is much faster than the Ather 450X. Here’s how fast it is.

Jawa 350

Jawa 350 Launch

Jawa launched their all new Jawa 350 at a price of Rs 2,14,950 (ex-showroom). The Jawa 350 is an updated retro roadster which replaces the Jawa standard and is designed to compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

Although the bike looks almostexactly like the Jawa Standard, it gets almost all-new underpinnings. It also comes with a larger 334cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine but the performance figures may surprise you.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

Ever since the first unveil at Motoverse 2023, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has generated quite a bit of buzz. Now the bike has been officially launched at a starting price of Rs 3,59,430 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Although the Shotgun is built on the Super Meteor 650’s platform and shares the same 648cc, air-/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine which produces 47PS and 52.3Nm. the bike comes with a few changes in terms of design and underpinnings that makes the bike stand out. Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 & Vitpilen 250

Husqvarna has launched the all new Svartpilen 401, a scrambler style motorcycle and the Vitpilen 250 which is a neo-retro roadster. The bikes feature the same engine used in the 2024 KTM Duke lineup, with the Svartpilen 401 getting the 390 Duke’s engine and the Vitpilen 250 getting the 250 Duke’s engine.

Both bikes have received almost the same updates that the KTM lineup did but what is surprising is that both are much cheaper than their KTM siblings.

Honda NX500
Honda NX500 Launched In India

Honda launched the Honda NX500 at an introductory price of Rs 5,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is quite decent for a multi-cylinder adventure bike. The bike is based on the Honda CB500X but comes with a few changes to the hardware along with a few cosmetic changes.

The bike is powered by a 471cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 47.5PS and 43Nm, putting it close to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 in terms of performance. For reference the Himalayan is powered by a 450cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that outputs 40.02PS and 40Nm. Although the power figures are the same, the Honda NX500 has a few features the Himlayan doesn’t. Here’s what they are.

Hero Xtreme 125R 

Hero MotoCorp launched their first sporty 125cc motorcycle, the Xtreme 125R and going by the features and specifications it has become clear that they have gone all in. The Xtreme 125R comes with many segment-first features from the largest disc brake in class to single-channel ABS and much more. Here’s everything the new bike comes with.

Revolt RV400 BRZ

Revolt has been well known for the Revolt RV400, a straightforward and dependable electric bike. But for the performance it packs, the bike can feel a bit pricey.

To address this, Revolt has launched the Revolt RV400 BRZ, which is a simpler version of the Revolt RV400 and comes with many of the expensive features removed. The bike comes at a price of Rs 1,37,950 (ex-showroom) making it the most affordable offering from Revolt. Here’s how the RV400 BRZ differs from the RV400.
