Wrong numbers can be hilarious and great source of entertainment
“Hello, Devi Prasad ghar par hai?”
Remember that iconic scene from Hera Pheri with an irate Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal) slamming the phone down in frustration, because people kept calling the wrong number? We can imagine that’s how it must have been for the Royal Enfield road-side-assistance (RSA) reps getting calls from Jawa owners for a tow.

A recent video on instagram of SamLee Mrdul(@2tmaniac) dialing the Jawa RSA customer care number but being relayed a Royal Enfield interactive voice response (IVR) recording made us giggle. It’s clearly a case of mismanagement at the backend of whatever call-center Jawa has outsourced its business to. But what’s most intriguing is that this company also clearly services the competition. That’s hilarious considering that's corporate conflict-of-interest 101!

Before we began writing this story we decided to call that number and check if we got the same response, but we were greeted by a Classic Legends services recording. Clearly the honest mistake has been resolved. India as a nation is a bank of such hilarious faux pas. After all, a news anchor once called the Chinese Premier Xi Jinping “11 (Eleven) Jinping.”
What a beautiful bunch of goofs we are!
