From sports bikes and street naked to ADVs, this December will be an unforgettable one
Update: Royal Enfield has just unveiled the Production Spec Shotgun 650. Check it out here!
November wasn’t disappointing; we saw some amazing bikes being launched, like the much-anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. And the year is all set to end with a bang, as there are several interesting two-wheelers set to be launched this month. Here’s a look at what’s in store:
Yamaha R3 and MT03
The Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-03 are 300cc offerings from Yamaha that many riders have been anticipating since the first time both were unveiled at Buddh International Circuit in September during the Indian MotoGP. The R3 is a fully faired supersport while the MT-03 is a street naked. Both motorcycles are powered by a 321cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine outputs 42PS and 29.5Nm. Official launch will take place on December 15. To know more about the pricing and other details, check out our story on the same here.
Kawasaki Eliminator 450
The Kawasaki Eliminator 450 is an upcoming cruiser bike from Kawasaki that is based on a new 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which outputs 45.4PS at 9000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6000rpm. We expect the bike to be unveiled at the India Bike Week this month, and if we’re lucky, it could be even launched then. Expect it to be priced at around Rs 5.6 lakh (ex-showroom).
Ather 450 Apex
Ather Energy had recently teased their upcoming variant of the Ather 450X dubbed ‘Ather 450 Apex’. It could be launched this month, with deliveries possibly starting from January 2024. This scooter will be the most powerful offering from Ather and we expect it to come with the 3.7kWh battery pack but with more power output than the 6.4kWh peak power that the 450X is able to produce. The scooter also might get new features like dual-channel ABS, cruise control and perhaps even transparent body panels.
Triumph Tiger 900 GT and Rally Pro
The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 range comes with both performance and feature updates, the new bikes produces 108PS at 9500rpm and 90Nm at 6850rpm, which is 13PS and 3Nm more than the old Tiger 900. The bikes also get new larger 7-inch TFT displays with Bluetooth connectivity as standard, among other updates. Triumph has already listed the Tiger 900 GT and the Tiger 900 Rally Pro variants in the Indian website. Expect the former to cost close to Rs 14 lakh whereas the latter could be priced at around Rs 16 lakh (both ex-showroom).
Special Mention: Royal Enfield Shotgun 650
Royal Enfield had recently unveiled a custom variant of the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, dubbed the Motoverse Edition. This custom bike will be a special edition that is limited to 25 units sold exclusively to Motoverse attendees and thus comes at a high price of Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
We expect the production version of the Shotgun 650 to be unveiled in December. That said, the bike will likely be launched in January 2024, possibly at an ex-showroom price tag of 3.5 lakh making it much cheaper than the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, on which it is based.
