BMW has confirmed that a new 'Heritage' range of motorcycles, including three new R nineT-based modern classic models, will be unveiled at the Milan motorcycle show in November.
BMW Motorrad has officially announced that it is going to reveal its new 'Heritage' range of motorcycles at the Milan motorcycle show in November this year. The range will include three modern classic motorcycles based on its popular R nineT but developed by a separate ‘Heritage’ department which will run alongside its modern motorcycle business.
The information has been confirmed by Stephan Schaller, president and CEO of BMW Motorrad. The company hasn't revealed the names or any specification of the upcoming models. However, MCN has rendered some images of the BMW Heritage range, including a scrambler or adventure bike, a street bike, and a semi-faired cafe racer. These bikes will get the same air/oil-cooled boxer-twin engine that is doing duty on the R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler.
Modern classic motorcycles are a combination of the charm of a retro along with the reliability and the performance of a modern machine. The Triumph Bonneville and the Yamaha SportHeritage are some of the brands offering this kind of motorcycles in the global market and a growing number of enthusiasts are taking interest in this kind of motorcycles. The BMW R nineT is also a retro-styled motorcycle which comes as a raw machine that can be customised into the one you dream to ride and that's the reason to choose it as a base for the upcoming Heritage range.
