Updated bikes are F700GS, F800GS and F800GS Adventure and upgrades include Euro 4 emission standards, ride-by-wire, four riding modes and much more!
The two-wheeler wing of BMW has updated its middleweight GS adventure motorcycle range including the F700GS, F800GS and F800GS Adventure. The 2017 models are compliant with the Euro 4 emission standards using newly designed exhaust pipes. Other major upgrades on the bikes are ride-by-wire throttle and four engine maps. The Road and The Rain modes are standard with all the three bikes while the Enduro and the Enduro Pro for off-road riders are optional.
The instrument clusters have also been revised for more information and readability. Apart from the readouts for riding mode info, the instrument panels feature Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) as well. Considering the demand of the segment, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) comes standard with all the three bikes. Features like Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) have been kept optional. One can also select from different trims such as Comfort and Dynamic which include heated grips, centre stand, riding modes, LED indicators and auxiliary lights.
Powering the BMW F700GS is a 798cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that makes 76PS at 7000 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 77Nm at 5500 rpm. The same engine has been tuned to produce 86PS at 7500 rpm and 83Nm at 5750 rpm in the BMW F800GS and F800GS Adventure. The company has also introduced optional sports exhausts from Akrapovic for all the three motorcycles.
