BMW Motorrad to Bring R1200GS in 2016 Auto Expo

The German automaker, BMW Motorrad is all set to showcase its machines at the highly-anticipated 2016 Auto Expo. The manufacturer will bring its models ranging from 300cc to 1200cc and one from the lineup is BMW R 1200 GS that will make its debut in India at the mega event. Apart from this, the company will also introduce its sport-tourer BMW S1000XR along with the much-awaited motorcycle BMW G310 R, a product manufactured by the joint venture of German marque and Indian two-wheeler giant, TVS.

BMW R 1200 GS is an attractive adventure-tourer machine which is powered by an 1170 cc, two-cylinder boxer engine with 4-valves per cylinder that generates 123.2bhp of power. After a wonderful response in the International market, it is speculated to launch in the Indian market by late 2016 or early 2017. The bike is known for its smooth feel and calm poise on the highway. If launched in India, the R1200GS would cost around Rs. 35 lac.

The German manufacturer is planning to sell its products via its own dealership network and current dealers Deutsche Motoren and Navnit Motors are expected to stay away from the flagship models.
