Minor update, but a welcomed one for sure!
Next generation KTMs are about a year away, but to sweeten the deal for buyers in 2023, KTM has decided to update the 200 Duke with a minor update. The entry-level streetfighter finally ditches the halogen headlight setup for an LED unit like its older siblings and now costs Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Yes, it’s now even harder to distinguish between the models, but, as a motorcycle, it now feels more up to date… well, almost!
The 200 Duke is one of the most exciting 200cc motorcycles on sale today. It looks mean and sharp like its older siblings, but a few elements like the halogen headlight and LCD instrument cluster looked super dated. However, in the update one of those problems has been solved.
It continues to be the most powerful 200cc bike with its 199.5cc, liquid-cooled engine making 25PS and 19.3Nm. In terms of hardware everything remains unchanged - upside down fork paired with a monoshock at the back, 320mm front disc paired with a 230mm unit at the back, and 17-inch alloys wheels.
In its segment, the KTM 200 Duke rivals the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Honda Hornet 2.0. But, with a price tag of Rs 1.96 lakh, which is Rs 3,155 more than before, the price gap between it and its rivals has widened even further.
