The newly launched variant comes packed with a number of geeky features over the standard one
2021 – TVS launched the Raider, a capable, feature-packed 125cc bike with the promise of a connected variant in the near future. More than a year has gone by, and the Hosur-based bikemaker has finally launched the top-spec variant of the Raider, that too in the Metaverse.
It comes loaded with a tonne of tech-savvy connected features at an introductory price of Rs 99,990. For perspective, the disc brake equipped variant without the connectivity tech costs Rs 93,489 (both ex-showroom Delhi).
The million-dollar question – What does the new variant get? Well, more features! This new variant of the Raider comes with a five-inch fully digital TFT console with voice assist, instead of the reverse LCD cluster seen on the standard variant. Along with the new console, it also gets Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation along with auto navigation (to the nearest fuel station) in case of low fuel, weather updates, music control, call/message notifications and alerts, along with cricket and news updates.

Functionalities like Eco/Power riding modes (segment-first), real-time mileage indicator and reminders for service and low battery are retained from the standard model. The motor and hardware, too, stay the same as the disc variant of the raider.
While we do appreciate all the tech that the raider comes packed with, however, we would have really appreciated at least a single-channel ABS instead of cricket scores.
With the new features, the SmartXonnect variant is much more well-equipped to go up against its rivals – the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125, Honda SP125, Keeway SR125 and Hero Glamour Xtec.
