TVS' upcoming 300cc adventure bike has been spotted undergoing testing for the first time, bringing it closer to its official production launch. While the company has remained tight-lipped about the bike for some time, spy shots of this highly anticipated model have surfaced online for the first time.
Name
In one of our earlier stories, we had stated that this upcoming TVS Adv bike will most likely be named the Apache RTX 300. TVS Motor had applied for a trademark for the name ‘Apache RTX’ all the way back in June 2023. The Hosur-based manufacturer uses the RTR prefix for its naked bikes, while the supersport series carries the RR tag . Therefore, it is highly likely that this model could use the RTX name.
Design
In terms of design, the bike features an adventure oriented aesthetic, with muscular body panels and tall stance that give it a big road presence. The front features a dual-pod headlight similar to TVS’ other 300cc bikes, the Apache RR 310 and the RTR 310. The tail-light also looks similar to the BMW G 310 GS.
Engine Details
It will likely be powered by the new RT-XD4 engine, which was unveiled at India Bike Week (IBW) 2024. The single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, 299.1cc engine makes 35PS and 28.5Nm. The engine will likely be paired with a six-speed gearbox and offer a slip-and-assist clutch. While specifications are more or less similar to the current 310 engine, the new motor promises to offer a flatter torque delivery, which will be helpful in an ADV.
Other Details
The hardware includes alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres by the looks of things. The TVS Adv bike seems to have a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel setup. As for suspension, it features an upside-down (USD) front fork and a monoshock. Given that the RR 310 and RTR 310 already offer adjustable suspension, it is likely that the upcoming ADV will follow suit.
Features
The TVS Apache RTX 300 will get tech features including LED lighting and a fully digital instrument console, the latter of which could be borrowed from the Apache RTR 310. TVS is known for equipping its motorcycles with a host of electronics. It could be no different here with probable additions such as traction control, cruise control, riding modes, and more.
Launch & Rivals
As shown in these test images, the bike is still undergoing testing, and an official launch is expected around the middle of next year in 2025. Once released, the TVS Apache RTX 300 will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the soon to launch 2025 KTM 390 Adventure S, the Yezdi Adventure, the Suzuki V-Storm 250 SX, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, the BMW G 310 GS and also the upcoming Hero Xpulse 400.
