According to our dealer sources, BS6 versions of Aprilia and Vespa scooters are likely to get dearer by around Rs 18,000 to Rs 19,000. Yes, that’s a lot considering that the Vespa lineup is already quite exorbitantly priced, starting from Rs 73,288 to Rs 1.12 lakh. It’s no different with Aprilia either, as its range of scooters are priced from Rs 66,734 to Rs 93,097. As per our sources, both manufacturers have made some changes to the engines, exhaust and the cat-con to make their models BS6-compliant.
So, when are the two manufacturers planning to launch their BS6-compliant models? Well, we don’t have any confirmation yet, but our sources suggest they could be launched starting December. Interestingly, some dealers across the country have already started accepting bookings for the BS6-compliant Vespa and Aprilia scooters for a token amount of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.
Apart from some minor cosmetic updates over the months, scooters from both brands haven’t received any major update. And considering the huge price increment, we expect the new scooters to be equipped with more modern features.
