Apart from added features, the BS6 iteration of Yamaha’s popular faired bike also gets quite a few changes in colour scheme and graphics

Yamaha recently launched the BS6-compliant version of its popular faired motorcycle, the YZF-R15 Version 3.0. While there’s a slight drop in performance in the BS6 version, Yamaha has compensated with nifty features such as a side-stand engine kill function, standard radial rear tyre and a dual horn setup. Additionally, it also gets changes in colour schemes and graphics. Let’s take a look:

Racing Blue:

The Racing Blue colour variant existed in the BS4-compliant model as well. It gets Yamaha’s trademark blue colour with a silver stripe running down the fairing. The BS4-compliant model looks slightly fancier thanks to the black stripe running right from the faux air intake between the headlamps and the fuel tank.

Interestingly, Yamaha has equipped the BS6 model with all-blue coloured alloy wheels instead of black ones with rim stickers in the BS4 model. This colour variant costs Rs 1,45,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Thunder Grey:

The Thunder Grey colour is essentially a combination of black, grey and red colour schemes. Interestingly, the red graphics on the fairing are completely different from the one in the BS4-compliant model. While the previous-generation bike got geometric patterns, the new-gen bike gets a more contemporary R15 logo on the fairing.

This variant is Rs 600 less expensive than the blue colour variant, likely because it gets standard black wheels. However, the wheels do get a set of sporty red and white rim stickers.

Darknight:

Though not related to the Caped Crusader, this colour variant does look pretty stealthy. The all-black colour scheme is complemented by silver R15 logo with graphics on the fairing. It also gets black alloy wheels but the rim stickers are a combination of black and white.

Yamaha offers the Darknight colour scheme in other two-wheelers such as FZ-S FI Version 3.0, Fascino and Ray-ZR too. While all these two-wheelers get black colour scheme, the graphics differ depending on the model. At Rs 1,47,300, the Darknight is the most expensive colour variant -- dearer than the base colour model by Rs 2,000.
