Boasts impressive claimed figures like 100kmph top speed and 200km of range

  • Available in Pro, Pro X and Pro Max variants

  • Claims a range of 100km on the lower and 200km on the top variant

  • Pro Max variant gets 9.6kW motor

Hyderabad-based EV manufacturer Electron launched a funky-looking electric scooter called Pro up its sleeve which has the potential to better the premium range of e-scooters in India. It comes in three different variants, Pro, Pro X and Pro Max, with different performance figures. The e-scooter was open for bookings at Rs 499; however, all three variants are currently out of stock.

In terms of appearance, the e-scooter gets a maxi-style design with a raised floorboard, big front apron and bulky appeal. The body panels are rather simple and easy, flowing from front to the rear, giving it a unibody appeal. Apart from that, it gets sleek-looking LED rectangular headlights and taillights neatly integrated into the body. This maxi-scooter design is also backed by impressive performance.

The e-scooter really manages to impress with a 7kW mid-drive motor on the Pro variant, an 8.5kW motor on the Pro X and a 9.6kW peak power motor on the Pro Max variant. On the Pro variant the motor is paired with a single swappable 2.7kWh Li-ion battery pack, claiming a 100km of range. On the Pro X and Pro Max variants, the motor is paired to two battery packs of the same capacity claiming a range of over 200km.

Even the claimed performance figures are pretty impressive; doing a 0-40kmph sprint in just 2.5 seconds on the top Pro Max variant. That is much quicker than the Ather 450X’s 3.3 seconds and Ola S1 Pro’s 3 seconds time. The standard Electron Pro claims a 0-40kmph sprint in 3.5 seconds which, too, is quite impressive.

The Electron Pro features a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers suspension setup. And for braking, it gets discs at both ends with CBS on the lower variants and ABS on the top variant. This electric scooter runs on 14-inch wheels at both ends.

In terms of features, the e-scooter comes packed with a TFT digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You can even control the music on the dash and have different themes for the cluster. Additionally, it gets keyless ignition and a tyre pressure monitoring system. However, the Electron Pro misses out on navigation.

The EV maker’s website displays that the Electron Pro is priced at Rs 1,19,980; while the Pro X costs Rs 1,59,997 and the top of the line Pro Max variant retails at Rs 1,79,990. However, there is no information on whether these include subsidies or not. The company has stated a delivery timeline of six months for those who have already booked the vehicle.
