Yamaha has launched the 2022 iteration of the Vino in Japan. The 50cc retro-styled scooter has received two new colours (Light Blue and Matte Green), and will arrive at dealerships on 12 April this year.

Interestingly, the 2022 Yamaha Vino will be manufactured by Honda Motor Co. Ltd. The pint sized scooter uses a 49cc single-cylinder engine, churning out 4.5PS and 4.1Nm. Honda also sells a similar cute-looking 50cc retro scooter in Japan, called the Giorno, making the same output figures. Want to know more about the latest Honda Giorno? Click here.

The Yamaha Vino looks pretty compact with curvy body panels. The scooter also features retro elements such as an oval-shaped instrument cluster, circular headlight and turn-indicators.

Talking about the Yamaha Vino's features, the scooter gets two apron-mounted storage spaces (the one on the left gets a lid and a 12V charging port), an idle stop-start system, an analogue speedometer, a generous 20-litre under-seat storage space, parking brake lock and a semi-digital instrument cluster with fuel gauge and odometer.

The ride of the scooter is taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking, the scooter uses a drum at both ends which is further assisted by combined braking system.

The scooter is priced at JPY 2,03,500 (around Rs 1.34 lakh) and offered in a total of six colours including the two new ones: Light Blue, Matte Green, Red, Black, Brown, and Beige. The new colours really bring out the funky element in the scooter. In India, if you are looking for a retro-styled scooter, you can consider the Yamaha Fascino 125, which features a segment-first mild-hybrid system.
