It uses your electric motorcycle’s battery pack as a backup inverter for your home
Vehicle-to-home (V2H) charging could be the next big thing in electric mobility with several electric car and bikemakers looking to introduce this feature in their future models. Damon has announced that the new tech will debut on its upcoming motorcycles.

The V2H feature allows you to use the electric motorcycle to power your home in the event of a blackout. The motorcycle’s battery pack acts like a backup inverter that can be connected to your home power source to run electrical connections like lights, fans and other appliances.
Given that the Damon Hypersport comes with a 21kWh lithium-ion battery pack, it could theoretically provide enough juice to power up your home for half a day to a couple of days depending on the size of your home and electrical usage. When used on the motorcycle, the battery pack offers a range of over 320km on a full charge. The battery pack can be fully charged in under three hours using a level two charger.

The V2H is one of the many features available on the upcoming Hypersport HS and Hypersport Premier that were unveiled at CES 2020. Other features include a 360-degree advanced warning system that scans the road around the motorcycle and in case of potential danger, warns the rider via haptic feedback on the handlebars and LEDs on the windshield. It also gets Shift tech that basically transforms the Hypersport from a sports bike to a tourer. It works by electronically adjusting windscreen, handlebars, seat and footrest positions to two modes: sport and commuter.
Besides cutting-edge features, the Hypersport gets a powerful liquid-cooled motor that delivers 16kW of peak power. It can accelerate to 100kmph in under 3 seconds and has a top speed of 320kmph. The Hypersport HS retails for USD 24,995 (Rs 19 lakh) while the higher specced Hypersport Premier costs USD 40,000 (Rs 30.5 lakh) in the USA.
