DSK Hyosung unveils line-up for the Auto Expo 2014

The Indian subsidiary of the South Korean auto manufacturer- DSK Hyosung is going to participate at the Indian Auto Expo (IAE) for the first time and the company has unveiled its line-up for the upcoming event. The company has announced to launch a cruiser bike, which will be GV250 Aquila. It has also announced that 2 other products will be unvieled at the event. One of the future products is expected to be GD250N, while other will be an advance 125cc bike.

Mr. Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman DSK Motowheels Pvt Ltd said, “We at DSK Hyosung are very excited about being a part of the Auto Expo 2014, as this will be our first ever participation at this mega event. We are gearing up to launch the all new, adrenaline pumping cruiser bike, which will be the first of its kind in its segment and is all set to revolutionize biking in India with its gorgeous looks and superlative ride experience. Apart from that we will also showcase two of our future bikes that will give a glimpse into the brand’s vision in terms of superior design, engineering and technological advancement.”

 

Hyosung GV250 Aquila

 

Hyosung GV250 Aquila is a entry level cruiser, with all the comfort features like a conventional cruiser. It gets the combination of a low mounted seat with a high mounted handle bar and carry forward foot pegs to achieve a comfortable upright seating position. The cruiser boasts a 249cc, 4-stroke, oil/air cooled, DOHC, 75-degree, V-twin with 4-valves per head configuration. Using electronic fuel injection (EFI) technology, it is capable to churn out a maximum power of 26.8bhp @10,500rpm and a peak torque of 22Nm @7,500rpm.

We strogly believe that one of the other two products to be showcased is the naked sport machine GD250N. The bike has got an aggressive appearance with with its musculine fuel tank on a naked chassis. The bike sports 247cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, 4-valve, DOHC, single cylinder engine, whic churns out 28.4bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 25Nm.

Another product in the company's pipeline is a 125cc bike, which was announced by the company in December 2013. They also announced to manufacture the bike locally at their developing Karad facility in Maharashtra. The bike will be showcased at the 2014 IAE, however it is expected to be launched by 2015 in a price range of Rs. 55,000-65,000. The company will use a single cylinder engine to maintain the cost of the bike.

 

Currently, the company is selling bikes costlier than Rs. 2.5 lakh in India, however with these products, it will target the lower price segment from Rs. 50,000 to 2.5 lakh.
