DSK Hyosung, a joint venture of the Indian business group and the South Korean motorcycle manufacturer, is all set to launch GD250N in India by the second quarter of 2014. We get to know about the launch in our interaction with Mr, Sirish Kulkarni, Managing Director, DSK Hyosung, who informed that they are going to launch the bike in both naked and faired versions.
Mr. Kulkarni said, "Our main concern is to bring more bikes in the 200-500cc bikes and then later on we are also looking forward to bring a 125cc bike. We will be launching two 250cc bikes in 2014. The bikes will include the GD250N and the faired version of the bike."
He also hints over the price of the bike, "Our prime focus will to offer our products in affordable pricing and we will try to launch the GD250N with sub-2 lakh pricing, so it can compete with the other products in the marketing", he further added.
We strongly believe that the bike will be launched at a starting price of Rs. 1.45 - 1.5 lakh and it will be available in the market by the end of April 2014.
Both the Naked and Faired, GD250N will be powered by the new 249cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, 4-valve, single cylinder engine, which churns out a maximum power of 28bhp along with 24Nm of peak torque. The bikes will get advanced features including front and rear disc brakes, inverted telescopic front forks and almost horizontal single-shock at rear with aluminium swing-arm. The bike will compete with the existing and upcoming 250cc bikes in the market, however, its main rivals will be KTM Dukes.
